My pool water smells of chlorine?
Most people believe that when a pool smells of chlorine it must have too much chlorine in the pool. This is normally not the case. The most common factor is a high chloramine level. Chloramines are a by-product of chlorine. When free chlorine comes into contact with nitrogen or ammonia (usually due to heavy bather loads), the free chlorine combines with the nitrogen or ammonia to form chloramines. Chloramines can only be destroyed by shocking (super chlorinating) the pool water. Use either Aquality Pool Care Power Chlor or Aquality Pool Care Shock “n” Swim.
